Environment interaction and improving visual effects
How's your Saturday? Mine started with a picnic on the beach and washing dishes. You can call it a balance ;)
If you're following social media game profiles (links at the end of the post) you may have seen burning trees. In-game ones so I didn't do any harm to the environment, I assure you! Look at the video:
Leaves are slowly disappearing, and when the tree is burned, it cannot be ignited again. It lacks visual juice yet, particles aren't much appealing, and there is no soot on a trunk. Yet.
It was quite easy to do, as I'm just changing alpha cutoff on the leaves material shader. I'm already working on improving visuals of the game so it will be more pleasant to look at. First, I'm taking care of the fire effects. Look, on the left, you can see an old burning effect and on the right the new one.
What do you think? Will do?
